Week two, #1: Snowy day and kids in the library

We have about 2 feet of new snow since Wednesday. Huge snow drifts surround the library. When the school bell rings, kids pile out of the school doors on the other side of our parking lot and head straight for the 12 foot hills made by the plows. After about 20 minutes of climbing, sliding, and throwing snowballs, they all head in to the library. Our back hallway becomes a dumping ground of hats, mittens, parkas, boots, backpacks, school projects, and melting snow.
Today being Friday, and an afternoon ski day for the entire school, kids will arrive a little later with skiis, snowboards, and skates to add to the decor. We are lucky at the Stowe Free Library to have a relatively large back entryway, however, access in and out of the building becomes prohibitive with all the stuff. Does anyone else out there have this problem? We have coat and backpack hooks on a rack but no one uses them. The amount of stuff is crazy!!
